Board of Education meets the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm, alternating locations between Los Gatos and Saratoga high schools' libraries. Board of Education members are Cynthia Chang, Roger Mason, Rosemary Rossi, Michele H. van Zuiden and Lorrie Wernick. Students Peter Wedell, of Los Gatos High, and Anshu Siripurapu, of Saratoga High, are senior and junior student board representatives. </p>

The station was created by trustees of the Los Gatos-Saratoga High School District in 1983 working in partnership with Los Gatos High School and funding from the Town of Los Gatos. It operated inside a school building that was previously used for agricultural purposes. In the summer of 2009, KCAT operations were moved across campus to a temporary site between the pool and maintenance areas. The station airs public service announcements at no charge to community organizations.
