Thank you Kiwanis. There seems to be an unfortunate misunderstanding or just plain bad retailing inRead More regards to cleaning public areas. Both the nationals and a lot of small business have shopping center mentality whereas the center cleans the outside public areas for them. I avoid shops in town that don't sweep in front or rear of their stores. On my side of the street Napa Style and Restoration Hardware get an F. Napa Style seldom even cleans it's windows. This is nothing new for Los Gatos, it has been going on for the 50 years I have been in town. I guess some retailers are too busy to put their best foot forward. I grew up in retailing and learned the axiom that floors and toilets were the managers first responsibility, and that dead flies in the window got you fired. I guess the new demographic doesn't mind stepping over %#%&.

I feel that participation and donations to Susan G. Komen have dropped since they stopped fundingRead More Planned Parenthood in 2012. Aside from their political views, they funded tens of thousands of mammograms that helped women detect early signs of breast cancer. I wish they would re-connect their relationship and continue to help women across the United States live long and healthy lives.
Heather Kiuttu June 9, 2013 at 11:28 am
Komen did not stop giving money to Planned Parenthood. That was a mistake that lasted for a week.Read More The markets they pulled out of were not profitable, and I believe that once the cities they are staying in in 2014 become full and people are upset they cannot get in, new cities will open up. I have walked or crewed since 2003 and it is the best community of people on the planet. We need day volunteers for the coming SF 3-Day, 21-23 June. Come and and make a difference!
