Zoom Running Events presents its Zombie Runner marathon, half marathon and 5-mile races promptly at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 on the Los Gatos Creek Trail, starting at 1250 Dell Ave. in Campbell.

Thousands of runners—novice, intermediate and advanced—are expected to run along the beautiful trail that covers the towns of Los Gatos, Campbell and San Jose.

Some will be wearing costumes and many will attempt the 26.2-mile course, while others will opt for 13.1 miles, or the shorter and faster 5-mile run.

Organizers are planning a costume contest 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. near the finish line with prizes such as T-shirts, award medals, goodie bags with healthy treats, etc. You must have competed in the event in your costume to qualify for the contest.

Sponsoring the event is the Palo Alto-based Zombie Runner store, 429 So. California Ave., as well as other sporting and athletic stores such as Coastal Trail Runs.

The course will take participants all the way to Lexington Reservoir and Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos.

Bib number and shirt pick-up can be done 2-6 p.m. Friday Nov. 1 at Zombie Runner, or on race day 7-7:45 a.m. at the Los Gatos Creek County Park. Park entrance is $6 per vehicle.
