Produced by the Addison Penzak Jewish Community Center, South Bay Teen Idol is an "American Idol" style competition that crowns the best teenage singer in Santa Clara County. Teenage vocalists in 8th-12th grades are eligible to compete. Based on auditions, judges select 20 singers to advance to the semifinals competition in February, at which time 10 singers are chosen to advance to the finals in March. Contestants can choose either a video or a live audition. Video auditions are 7-10 p.m. Jan. 6-10. Pre-registration required. Live auditions are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 on a first-come, first-served basis at the JCC, 14855 Oka Road. ART IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS NEW EXHIBIT
The Town of Los Gatos and the Museums of Los Gatos have partnered on a new exhibit showcasing renowned Bay Area artists' works of part of the program through Jan. 30, 2014. The program, which has been going on for 13 years, normally presents four exhibits in the chambers, 110 E. Main St., with an evening artist reception being held for each show. BACKWARD IS FORWARD EXHIBIT AT LOS GATOS ART MUSEUM
