Los Gatos Weekender: Crabfest, 'Benefit For Tina,' Jewbilee

The Rotary Club of Los Gatos invites the community to attend its annual Crabfest and Auction at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at St. Mary's Church, 219 Bean Ave. in Los Gatos. Tickets are $50 per person, $20 for youth 12 and under and include all-you-can eat fresh cold crab, Billy's Boston clam chowder, farmers' market salad, garlic bread, pasta and coffee and dessert. Proceeds benefitSt. Luke's Episcopal Church of Los Gatos, which helps the homeless, Los Gatos High School student activities, Boy Scout Troop 2 and the Rotary Club of Los Gatos Charities Foundation. 'BENEFIT FOR TINA' AT KRUSH SALON IN LOS GATOS

Los Gatos hairstylists are hosting a fundraiser for a colleague named "Tina" who has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 at Krush Salon, 106 Royce St. Tina has worked as a hairdresser in town for more than 20 years, organizers said, and now she needs financial help to cover her medical bills. All proceeds benefit Tina's Cancer TKO fund. Only cash and checks will be accepted. Organizers will offer eyebrow and lip wax for $20, shampoo and haircut for $20, shampoo, haircut and blowdry for $40 and shampoo and style for $20. 

JEWBILEE AT THE JCC IN LOS GATOS

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center's annual Jewbilee day of learning takes place 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 at 14855 Oka Rd. The event is a smorgasbord of classes, workshops, and performances for all ages. Through a diverse program line up, including rabbis from all Jewish denominations, professors from many of the universities and colleges of the Bay Area, students, teachers, artists, and performers, the event's goal is to present a diversity of Jewish beliefs, political orientations, cultures, and experiences through a program that is an expression of the real Jewish landscape. Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 students and seniors, children 4 and under free. Tickets include full kosher buffet. Free childcare available. NEW YORK BRASS ARTS TRIO

The nonprofit Los Gatos Community Concert Association begins its 2014 season of concerts at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 with the New York Brass Arts Trio at the Los Gatos High School Theatre, 20 High School Court. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $5 for students. Season tickets for the four-concert series are $60 for adults, $55 for seniors, $10 for students and and $130 for families. Details: info@lgcca.org.

TRACY GRAMMER AT THE WOODSHED

Singer-songwriter Tracy Grammer performs at The Woodshed, 16905 Roberts Rd., at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door. Details: 408-395-0767. Grammer is said to be one of folk music’s most beloved performers, playing the violin and guitar combined with storytelling and a sense of humor.

AMERICAN BOHEMIA: THE CATS ESTATE IN LOS GATOS

The History Museum of Los Gatosat Forbes Mill, 75 Church St., presents "American Bohemia: The Cats Estate in Los Gatos" noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Exhibit highlights include the showing of home movies of famous American writer and lawyer C.E.S. Wood and poet and suffragist Sara Bard Field and their families at the Cats Estate, 17525 Santa Cruz Highway. Details: 408-395-7375

ART IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS NEW EXHIBIT

The Town of Los Gatos and the Museums of Los Gatos have partnered on a new exhibit showcasing renowned Bay Area artists' works of part of the program through Jan. 30, 2014. The program, which has been going on for 13 years, normally presents four exhibits in the chambers, 110 E. Main St., with an evening artist reception being held for each show. The first exhibit features more than 50 artists currently appearing in the Los Gatos Museums Gallery. Details: 408-354-6834.
