CARNEY, SUGAI & SUDWEEKS SENIOR ARTISTS EXHIBIT

The Los Gatos-based elder law firm of Carney, Sugai & Sudweeks, 750 University Ave., is hosting an office art gallery exhibit reception at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 in suite 140. The exhibit will feature the artwork of five renowned Los Gatos senior artists: Al Giraudo, Jane Gorney-Govorchin, Deborah Matlack, Maralyn Miller and Arlene Zimmerman. WALKING IN A WHISKER WONDERLAND ADOPTATHON

The Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority hosts its annual Walking in a Whisker Wonderland adoptathon 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at the animal center, 3370 Thomas Road in Santa Clara. Adopters can "pay what they want" in adoption fees. Bring your pet and join the Friends of SVACA for photos with Santa 11:30 a.m.-2:30 pm; a $10 donation is requested. FAMILY FUN DAY AT THE COURTSIDE CLUB

To celebrate the holiday season, the Courtside Club, 14675 Winchester Blvd. hosts a family fun day for the community of Los Gatos at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10. The event is complimentary and will announce the club's name change to the Bay Club Courtside. BACKWARD IS FORWARD EXHIBIT AT LOS GATOS ART MUSEUM

The Museums of Los Gatos presents Backward is Forward: Layer and Impact in Printmaking exhibit through Jan. 12, 2014 at the Art Museum of Los Gatos, 4 Tait Ave. The show features prints by Enrique Chagoya, Hung Liu, Sam Francis, David Gilhooly, Gregory Edwards, Michael Mazur, Frank Lobdell, Andrew Romanoff, Inez Storer, Nathan Oliveira, Erik Bakke, Joan Miro, Marguerite Saegesser, Ruth Wall, Kathy Aoki, Vicky M. Chen, Tom Killion, Jessica Dunne, and Robin McCloskey. Artists have been using printmaking processes for centuries to create thought-provoking works of art, however the details of the medium are often a mystery to viewers. Details: 408-395-7386,
