GIRLS ON THE RUN AT VASONA IN LOS GATOS

Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley hosts its 10th annual Girls on the Run 5K at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 18 at Vasona Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd. in Los Gatos. More than 1,350 Girls on the Run participants and 300 coaches as well as another 1,000 community members will gather to run, walk, and skip a 3.1-mile loop to complete the 5K event. If the event is not sold out, in-person registration will be available on May 17 and May 18 for $40. Family discounts are available. LOS GATOS SPRING WINE WALK 2013

The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce presents an afternoon of strolling through the streets while sampling wines from local wineries at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Old Town Center, 50 University Ave., The event is sold out, but those wanting to attend can stop by the registration area to see if there is any last-minute cancellation. Event also features live music, shopping. Merchants will provide an open house atmosphere for participants while they taste vino from more than 45 wineries, including: Baiocchi Wines & Vineyards, Big Basin Vineyards, Burrell School Vineyard & Winery, Charles Usher Wines, Cinnabar Winery, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, Fortino Winery, Guglielmo Winery, Leal Vineyards, MJA Vineyards, Mountain Winery, Regale Winery and Vineyards, Savannah-Chanelle Vineyards, Silver Mountain Vineyards, Testarossa Winery, Tank House Winery, Sycamore Creek Vineyards and many more. LOS GATOS LIONS CLUB DATE NIGHT

The Los Gatos Lions Club presents its Date Night gala fundraiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Moore Buick GMC, 15500 Los Gatos Blvd., to benefit local charities that  provide mental health and counseling services for children in need. A $65 ticket gives participants access to wine tasting from 11 premiere local wineries, food sampling from 11 renowned Los Gatos restaurants, live jazz and a silent/live auctions and raffle. ADDISON-PENZAK JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER OF SILICON VALLEY WELLNESS FAIR

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center presents a free Wellness Fair 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 14855 Oka Rd. in Los Gatos. The event will be fun and informative for all ages. Dozens of booths, activities and classes covering all aspects of wellness will be offered, including health, safety, physical fitness, spiritual wellness, financial wellness, and more. Participants will be able to try fitness classes, sample healthy foods, learn about CPR, first aid and choking prevention, explore a fire truck, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., ambulance and police car, learn from a variety of information booths, enjoy hands-on activities for children, and more. EVOLUTION OF GREEN: ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM IN SANTA CLARA VALLEY

Evolution of Green is an exhibit sharing the stories of those individuals and groups whose experiences have shaped the evolving narrative of the valley's environmental story for the past 50 years 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday and Friday and noon-4 p.m. Wednesday and Sunday through Sept. 1 at the History Museum of Los Gatos, 75 Church St. Details: 408-354-2646.
