FREE ICE CREAM AT MAIN STREET BURGERS

So last year Main Street Burgers in Los Gatos, 20 So. Santa Cruz Ave., gave away a free scoop of ice cream on the first day of summer. Not to break with a brief yet hip tradition, the business is kick-starting summer again this year with a free sundae from 2 until 5 p.m. Friday, June 21 to every man, woman and child who visits the establishment. LOS GATOS FOOD TRUCK FEST

For the second year in a row, Russ Stanley, owner of La Hacienda, 18840 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road, continues the culinary summer series of the Los Gatos Food Fest 5-9 p.m. Friday, June 21. The weekly Friday food extravaganza officially began Friday, May 17 and features live music and the presence of hugely popular food trucks. LOS GATOS PLEIN AIR FINE ART EXHIBIT

The Los Gatos Plein Air fine art exhibit and sale, sponsored by the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Club, takes place June 21-22. The event will feature 39 artists who will paint several pieces al fresco all around town. Those works of art will then be sold at a VIP artists reception and silent auction 7-10 p.m. Friday, June 21 at "The Gables," the estate of Barbara and Mark Beck. Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased online at wwwlgpleinair.org. A fine art exhibit and silent auction sale continues the next day, Saturday June 22, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Los Gatos Town Plaza. Admission to the public is free. Proceeds benefit Montalvo Arts Center education programs, Los Gatos Music & Arts, The Museums of Los Gatos, the Art Docents of Los Gatos, Lighting for Literacy Los Gatos Morning Rotary Charitable Foundation. VASONA VIBRATIONS CONCERT

Sherry Austin with Henhouse performns Saturday, June 22. For the 11th consecutive year, Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department and South Bay Folks team up to bring you free, family-friendly concerts 5-7 p.m., every Saturday in June and July at Vasona Lake County Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd. The concerts began Saturday, June 1 and are located on the lawn near the Ranger Office down the hill from the pedestrian entrance at University Avenue and Pepper Tree Lane. LOS GATOS MUSIC IN THE PARK

The community nonprofit organization Los Gatos Music & Arts holds its second concert of the season, at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 23 at the Civic Center Park featuring Rupa and The April Fishes. The series ends Sunday, Aug. 25, with the performance of Talavya Indian Tabla drums. EVOLUTION OF GREEN: ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM IN SANTA CLARA VALLEY
