Week Ahead: Biz Break, Jazz Concert, Fourth of July Festival

LOS GATOS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BIZ BREAK

The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce hosts its monthly Biz Break event 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2 at California Cafe, in Old Town Center, 50 University Ave. This is a monthly casual, drop-in networking opportunity. No reservations, no agenda, no announcements. Details: 408-354-9300.

JAZZ ON THE PLAZZ CONCERT PRESENTS HALIE LOREN 

Los Gatos Music & Arts Jazz on the Plazz continues its second decade of summer concerts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26 at Town Plaza Park, corner of West Main Street and Santa Cruz Avenue, in downtown Los Gatos. Performing will be Halie Loren. The free concerts continue through Aug. 28 same time and same location. LOS GATOS CELEBRATES THE FOURTH OF JULY

Los Gatos will be celebrating our nation's 237th birthday 11 a.m. Thursday, July 4 at the Civic Center and high school's front lawn, 110 E. Main St. Events include hometown picnic and games, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., civic center; Strike up the Band, 1:30-3:30 p.m., Los Gatos High School front lawn; Yankee Doodle Dancing, 3:30-7 p.m., civic center; solemn reading of names of Los Gatos and Monte Sereno personnel serving in the Middle East. The flag raising and Operation Yellow Ribbon ceremonies are made possible by the Los Gatos Rotary and Boy Scout Troop 501. Details: 408-399-5770.

FRIENDS OF LOS GATOS PUBLIC LIBRARY CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Friends of Los Gatos Library Bookstore, 110 East Main St., will be open Tuesdays: 3-7 p.m.; Thursdays: 2-6 p.m. and Sundays: noon-5 p.m. This Fourth of July they'll be celebrating with texts about the United States Armed Forces and other collectible editions.
