Los Gatos Kiwanis Club Beautifies Downtown

The Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos refreshed the railings at the south side of Parking Lot 4 in the downtown area the morning of Saturday, June 15.

First, the railings were masked to prevent spills on the concrete, then the well-worn metal was sanded.

The Kiwanians, under the direction of Los Gatos Park Services Officer Dave Gray and a volunteer professional painter, then painted the railings.

The service club, led by president Dr. Clyde Horn, has refurbished and repainted several flagpoles downtown and now it's adding railings to its repertoire.

Club secretary Bob Jones said the project focused on sanding and painting all the rails at the downtown parking lot adjacent to Grays Lane.

He said the town furnished all the supplies and club members did "the manpower."
