Los Gatos 'Cracks Up' Good Time With Claws for a Cause Fundraiser

Attendance expected to be more than 1,000 this year for Los Gatos Morning Rotary Club's biggest fundraiser.

Rows and rows of tables of local and non-local residents eating delicious lobster meat and other side dishes filled Bachman Avenue in Los Gatos Saturday evening, spilling onto the parking lot of the Bank of America for the eighth annual Claws for a Cause fundraiser.

The cracking of the steamed marine crustaceans began at 5:30 p.m. outside , which co-sponsored the popular event along with the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Club

A $90 ticket allowed attendees access to an all-they-could-eat lobster buffet that also included tri-tip, grilled chicken and other yummy food, cookies and wine and beer on tap for a small corkage fee.

Proceeds benefit worthwhile causes such as , feeding the homeless, the End Polio Now campaign, youth leadership programs, school music instruction and scholarships for college.

After the succulent meal, participants danced in front of a stage set up in the parking lot where the popular Joe Sharino Band performed to the delight of all.

On behalf of the Los Gatos Morning Rotary, I'd really like to thank all of our sponsors and all of our guests. Last night's event was both fun and successful. We truly look forward to returning the proceeds to our community by supporting our youth and arts programs. See you next year on September 7!

This was my first time at Claws for a Cause; OMG it was so much fun. I danced my fanny off! Lots of lobsters gave their lives for this worthy cause. If you missed it, you missed a good time...

Hi Zoe. sorry I missed you! Would have loved to have taken your photos dancing and eating lobster! Glad you had a chance to move! Wanted to, but was alone!

Sounds like it was a Great Time! Sheila, I'm usually alone to functions, & that doesn't stop me from dancing! HA!

Hi Irene, after writing that response to Zoe I thought the same thing as I do dance alone all the time! Just ask my kids who are embarrassed by it!

Thanks to all the attendees and sponsors who made it a success and thanks to all the volunteers such as the Los Gatos Band "Boosters", Sea Scouts and Boy Scouts that made it possible for us to host this Clawriffic event.
