Last Chance: Fancy Paws Fashion Show, Jill's Ride for Hope

Up and coming deadlines for this weekend in Los Gatos you don't want to miss. Have fun!

208 E. Main St., sponsors once again this year the popular Fancy Paws Fashion Show, 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25. Is your dog ready to walk the red carpet? Bring your pooch in full attire to show off their latest fashion designs, be creative with a special costume or have them perform. Treats, prizes, and surprises for dogs and humans alike. If you don't have a dog, you're invited to watch. Registration is $10 per entry. Applications can be picked up at LGSR. Details: 408-354-1514.

LEADERSHIP LOS GATOS

The deadline to apply to be a part of the Leadership Los Gatos 2012-13 class is Aug. 31. The program gives individuals the opportunity to train for leadership roles in community organizations. In cooperation with the Town of Los Gatos, the runs Leadership Los Gatos. The 10 half-day session program is for people of all backgrounds and interests who wish to become more involved in the community. Details: Ronee Nassi, 408-354-9300.

JILL'S RIDE FOR HOPE

Jill’s Ride for Hope 2012, a ride/run/walk event returns 7 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25 at Los Gatos High School's front lawn, 20 High School Ct. The event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Counseling and Support Services for Youth, or CASSY program at LGHS. Please register at jillsrideforhope.com. Participants can register for a 5K, 40K or 100K and the event is open to all
ages. Registration fee varies from $18-$35 youth/$55 adults. 

MUSIC IN THE PARK

The 25th annual Music in the Park free summer outdoor concert series ends this Sunday, Aug. 26, 5-7 p.m., in the Los Gatos Civic Center Lawn, 110 E. Main St., a fixture of the Los Gatos summer scene. Performing will be Latin jazz legend Pete Escovedo.

OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT

Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic, relax on the Jewish Community Center's soccer field, and watch the classic summer adventure movie The Goonies, 8 p.m., 14855 Oka Rd., Suite 201.
