The last several times I've tried to use the fountain (for my dog), the water is off. So when thirst overcomes revulsion, it's still not possible to get a quick drink. On a related topic-- while I appreciate the fact that there is a water fountain at the trail head, it's in just about the worst location. Placed on the sidewalk next to the garbage can and light pole at the curb, there is a bottleneck at that point that inconveniences everyone on the sidewalk, especially on weekends. It would be so much better if the fountain were located on the trail, off the sidewalk!

At a time when budgets are tight and other projects have higher priority I can see where this may not be addressed for a while. Perfect opportunity for Boy Scouts or other group to the fountain a good scrub and at least make it somewhat decent to use.

Can some generous organization offer to replace the fountain? Los Gatos has a beautification committee. Are they interested in ridding the town of an eyesore?

2 words; "FIX IT"!

I make it a point to always take my own water on a walk, so never drink out of fountains, but for those less particular, the parks and public works dept. should make an effort at cleaning up this useless eyesore.

The fountain is gone. Somewhat glad to have the sidewalk back. I hope if a water fountain goes back in, it's off the sidewalk, or at least away from the garbage can and light post.
