Wildcats Face Vikings Tonight at Helm Field

Undefeated Los Gatos Wildcats play the Palo Alto Vikings tonight.

Tonight at 7:30 p.m., the Los Gatos Wildcats host the 4-1-0 Vikings of Palo Alto at Helm Field.

These powerhouses are the two top-rated teams in the CCS De Anza Division.

Los Gatos, with a 4-0-1 record, is the only unbeaten team in the league, having tied with Wilcox on Sept. 30.

In that match-up, both teams ended four quarters of play in a 20-20 tie. In an extra period of play, the Cats beat the Chargers in a ferocious overtime period 7-6, to boost playoff positioning.

Last week the Cats hosted Mountain View in an as-expected, and well-executed running game with some unexpected, yet very successful passing. When all was said and done, the Los Gatos team held the Spartans to just two—points that is, in a 40-2 victory.

The Wildcats of Los Gatos hope to corner the Vikings. Expect league leading rushing yardage senior Garrett Zeiter to deliver.

Los Gatos has enhanced its game by honing in on its receiving skills recently, by quarterback Bryan Rose to fellow seniors Teddy Enfantino, Jake Bevans, and Max Friday.

Shoring up the defense are seniors Zac Janovich, Chuck Sullivan, and Sean Neimann. Senior powerhouse Shane Smith will be critical on both offensive and defensive play.

The team’s strengths are not just in its veteran players though. Look for juniors Max Herman, Kyle Kevorkian, Teva Brender and Nico Aimonetti to all factor in significantly for the Cats.

The game tonight should prove to be an exciting time—every play of the way.
