What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting

Trustees to discuss Project Cornerstone and a resolution supporting unions in voicing opposition to state budget cuts to education.

The Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at district headquarters, Thomas P. O'Donnell District Office, 17010 Roberts Rd. The board is expected to consider the following items:

  • Project Cornerstone Presentation: Marla Rodriguez, assistant superintendent of administrative services/labor relations will introduce Linda Silvius, School Partnerships Director for Project Cornerstone for Santa Clara County, who will present the implementation of Project Cornerstone in Los Gatos and highlight the survey results administered this fall. Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School Superintendent Cary Matsuoka will share the 2010-2011 Project Cornerstone survey results for Los Gatos High School. 
  • International Baccalaureate Evaluation: The International Baccalaureate Organization evaluated Lexington Elementary School's International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program in October 2010. David Freed, Lexington principal and Gayle Gordon, IB coordinator, will present the evaluation's findings and next steps for Lexington. 
  • Resolution regarding the non-reemployment of one certificated employee.
  • Resolution supporting California's Week of Action on state budget, May 9-13, 2011. The district is joining the California School Boards Association, Association of California School Administrators, California Teachers Association and other members of the Education Coalition to show solidarity against state budget cuts to education this week.
