What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meetings

Both the Los Gatos Union and the Los Gatos Saratoga Joint Union school districts have their board of education meetings tonight.

The and the school districts have their board of education meetings tonight, Tuesday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Thomas P. O'Donnell District Office board room, 17010 Roberts Rd., and at the Library, 20 High School Court, respectively.

Los trustees will discuss the following:

  • Recognition of
  • Home and School Club grant proposals for the 2012-13 school year for Blossom Hill, Daves Avenue, Lexington and Louise Van Meter elementary schools. The grants or gifts being given to the district total $221,515.
  • R. J. Fisher Middle School Principal Lisa Fraser will give an update on the status of the CASSY Middle School Program piloted in the 2011-12 school year.
  • K- 5 science, art, Gifted and Talented Education, or GATE and Curriculum/Technology Integration end-of-year reports.
  • Los Gatos Education Foundation Art Grant for the 2012-13 school year.
  • Budget Advisory Committee annual report
  • Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee applicant summary
  • Contract with KPDC for Measure E Program Management services for the period from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
  • LGUSD Parcel Tax Oversight Committee bylaws.
  • Revised final draft of the Financial Advisory Committee bylaws.
  • First reading of a proposed parcel tax.
  • Van Meter Elementary School fourth-grader Mateo Lozoya's oil pastel drawing titled "Self-Portrait with Hat" is selected from Santa Clara County arts students for special exhibit at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C.
