What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting

Los Gatos Union School District trustees meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at Daves Avenue Elementary School to discuss student enrollment and the North 40 development, among other topics.

The  trustees meet at 6:30 p.m., tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 's multi-purpose room, 17770 Daves Ave., to discuss the following issues:

On the consent agenda, which allows the five-member Board of Education to approve items with one vote and without public comment are:

  • Quarterly Investment Report for the fourth quarter ending June 2012
  • Revised Board of Trustees meeting schedule for the 2012-13 school year
  • Expenditures in certain classifications that have increased or decreased from the LGUSD's original adopted budget for the 2011-12 school year
  • Adoption of Gann Limit Appropriations
  • Home and School Club grant for Daves Avenue Elementary School for the 2012-13 school year

  • Designate specified position as senior management of the Classified Service and Employment Agreement for assistant superintendent-business services
  • Unaudited actuals for approval for fiscal year 2011-12.
  • Susan von Felten, LGUSD's director of curriculum amd instruction, will present the consolidated application for the 2012-13 school year
  • Davis Demographics & Planning, Inc., will present his findings of the 10-year demographic study for the LGUSD
  • Brent McClure, architect from Cody Anderson Wasney, along with members of his team, will update trustees as to progress and information gathered regarding the LGUSD's long-term facilities master plan
  • Lexington construction and Measure E update
  • Authorize LGUSD Superintendent Diana Abbati to issue a notice to proceed for the design modifications for the Lexington Elementary School Modernization Project to HMC Architects, Inc. The formal amendment will be presented to the Governing Board for approval at the Sept. 18, 2012 board meeting
  • Town of Los Gatos Student Population Projections Report
