West Valley College Debuts Remodel

Open house Sept. 30 at language arts and social science building.

West Valley College, which serves the Los Gatos community and is based in Saratoga, is hosting a grand opening Monday at 2:30 p.m. of its newly remodeled Language Arts/Social Sciences Building with 27 classrooms and 47 faculty offices. 

The event is open to the public and will feature a tour of the facilities.

The $18.7 million project, funded by voter approved Measure H Bond funds in 2004, was designed by HMC Architects, built by Gonsalves and Stronck Construction Co. Inc. and project managed by Gilbane Building Co.

“West Valley College is very proud to have the support of our local communities who are steadfastly committed to the growth and modernization of our beautiful campus," said WVC President Brad Davis. 

"This building is a testament to our dedication to teaching and learning, and to providing our faculty, staff, and students the best environment to help our students pursue their educational dreams.”

The project was built to LEED Certified Silver standards with certification pending.

Monday's event marks the “official” grand opening, but the building began service Aug. 26 for the Fall 2013 semester

West Valley College is a public California Community College, located in Saratoga, and part of West Valley-Mission Community College District. WVC is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. www.westvalley.edu
