Key to Awesomeness:

Colin has always been a boy of amazing talent, but it is his determination that sets him apart from other kids, wrote proud mom Lisa Sullivan in an email interview.

Whatever his interests are, he learns as much as he can about the subject through independent study, she said.

"He then uses his knowledge, along with weeks and months of diligent practice, to achieve above and beyond the average expectations. Once, such interest blossomed into a successful after school activity in diving," she continued.

Colin has been a student of diving for two years, she added. Last summer he took first place in almost every district event he competed in.

He competed in two out-of-state regional events qualifying to attend the Jr. Nationals for Diving 11 and under. He was one of a minority of 10-year-olds to compete in this age group. He has goals to dive in college and for the Olympics in 2020, mom said.

In addition to diving, Colin enjoys music playing guitar and the clarinet for his middle school band. He enjoys skateboarding and swimming where he has also proven to be an excellent performer, she said.

Colin's favorite subject is history and his hero is Baer Grylls.

He also enjoys fishing and creating videos on his iPad, which he displays on YouTube. He has an older brother named Luke and a younger sister named Kelsey. "He is a great kid and wicked smart to those who know him. We look forward to seeing what other successes he will have in his future," mom finished.
