St. Mary's School of Los Gatos Plans

An open house and Grandparent/VIP day will highlight this
year’s observance of National Catholic Schools Week at St. Mary’s School of Los Gatos. The events are part of the nationwide celebration of Catholic education during the week of January 29 to February 3. This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Academics. Service.” The theme expresses Catholic schools’ focus on learning about faith, striving for high academic standards, and serving the community.

St. Mary’s School invites prospective students, their families and community residents to visit to see what the school offers. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about programs for Kindergarteners to 8th-grade students, observe classes in session, and pick up enrollment materials.  We will celebrate Catholic Schools Week with a series of special events, including –


State of the School, Thursday, January 26th, 7:00 9:00 PM - Prospective parents are invited to meet
current parents and learn more about the dynamic community that makes St. Mary’s unique. Join us in Howley Hall at 7:00pm for our annual State of the School address.  This year, our topic of interest will be Digital Citizenship.

Celebration Masses – St. Mary’s students will be highlighted at the following Masses:

Saturday, January 28th  – 5pm Mass

Sunday, January 29th   – 7:30am
Mass, 9am Mass, 11:15 Mass

School Tours – Interested parents are invited to visit St.
Mary’s. Tours are as follows: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, January 31st - February 2nd, (from 8:30 - 10:45 for kindergarten and 10:45 - 11:15 for all other grades). Press Conference meetings with Principal, Sister Nicki Thomas will be held at 11:30am on those days in the Conference Room.

Grandparent/VIP Day – On Friday, February 3rd, St. Mary’s will honor their Grandparents (or Very Important Person) with photo-taking opportunities, a special Mass at 11:00 and coffee and donuts.

“At St. Mary’s, our mission is to educate the whole child
in an atmosphere of academic excellence and faith,” said Principal Sister Nicki Thomas. “We’re excited to have the opportunity during Catholic Schools Week to share our programs and what our students have accomplished with the entire community.”

Catholic Schools Week is a joint project of the National
Catholic Educational Association and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
