Sidewalk CPR

October is National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, dedicated to educating patients and the public about what sudden cardiac arrest is and how to respond to a cardiac arrest. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death in the United States. It is when the heart suddenly stops beating, resulting in no blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. Approximately 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur each year in the United States.

In recognition of that, BabyBuzz will be holding a free “Sidewalk CPR” training event at BabyBuzz, 35 W. Main St., Los Gatos, (outside on the sidewalk) on Oct 22 from 11-1 (rain or shine). Our volunteer instructors will train the public in CPR, AED and choking. While this isn’t a “certified” course, students will walk away with the knowledge needed to save a life. This event is free.
