Relay for Life

Seven years ago my mom was diagnosed with with stage 3 1/2 breast cancer, the worst type possible because at stage 4 you no longer live. And to top it all off her cancer cells were aggressive. Everyone around  her was silently convinced that she wasn’t going to live, that she wasn’t going to win. Until my mom was brave enough to try this new type of drug called herceptin, it had never been tested before so we all hoped it could save my mom. After my mom pulled through everything, all he needles, the pain, and worst of all the sadness, she is a SURVIVOR!! Every year since then my mom, my brother and I all go to the relay for life, and amazing organization made through the American Cancer Society. Everyone who attends can donate to cancer research and they walk or run around a track to raise money for cancer. They also have fun booths, raffle games, and food for the whole 24 hours. I have been going every year for the past seven years. If anyone is reading this please come and join me on June 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. to June 8, 2014 12:00 p.m. Every year there I light a lantern for my mom and my grandmother who has also had breast cancer. You can come to light a lantern for anyone you know who has had cancer or has passed from it. Or just come to support others! Thank You!
