On March 25, Los Gatos Patch columnist Dyan Chan, who also serves as the leader of our Moms Council, asked: "It seems like there are a lot more police officers out on the streets than usual. Is this accurate? If so, why have they stepped up their patrols?"

Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Sgt. spokesman Michael D’Antonio, who is also investigations supervisor for the department, responded: "There has not been an increase to sworn personnel. Sgt. D'Antonio added the department is not filling retired Sgt. Kerry Harris’ position and that who joined the department in December of 2012 from the San Jose Police Department, filled the vacancies left when Sgt. David Fishback and officer Sam Wonnell retired.
