What to Expect From Tonight's Town Council Meeting

Increasing certain municipal fees and downtown conditional use permits are on the agenda.

The Los Gatos Town Council, which also serves as the Parking Authority and Redevelopment Agency, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Town Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St.

Topics on the agenda include:

  • update. The council will be briefed on progress being made on the development of a plan to guide what will be included in about 42 acres of land bounded roughly by Los Gatos Boulevard to the east, Highway 85 to the north, Lark Avenue to the south and Highway 17 to the west.
  • A $70,000 cost-sharing agreement between Los Gatos and Sunnyvale for Tiburon Inc.'s computer-aided dispatch and and records management for public safety services. Both municipalities' operating systems will be upgraded and combined, with Sunnyvale being the host agency.
  • Annexations of land pockets into town boundaries at 16397 Hilow Rd., 16417 Peacock Ln. and 16200 Shannon Rd. to provide efficient municipal services, including road maintenance. 
  • Improvements to the town's landscaping and lighting assessment districts, which provide benefits to property owners such as maintenance of street lights, tree planting, irrigation systems, etc.
  • Amendment to amount being paid to Callander Associates Inc., the design consultants for the$3 million, 2.7-acre to be located at 930 University Ave. The amount is increasing from $62,489 to $156,700. 
  • A resolution continuing certain department fees, rates and charges, and adjusting others for fiscal year 2011-12 based on the Consumer Price Index and Building Cost Index. Development, building, planning, engineering, administrative and police fees could be increased.
  • Preparation of an ordinance about downtown conditional use permits and use conversions.
