What to Expect From Tonight's Town Council Meeting

Electric vehicle charging stations and proposed new wine bar and wine retail shop on North Santa Cruz Avenue on the agenda.

The Los Gatos Town Council, which also serves as the Parking Authority and Redevelopment Agency, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Town Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St.

Topics on the agenda include:

  • Los Gatos Mayor Joe Pirzynski will declare April as National Poetry Month in Los Gatos. Poetry Los Gatos, a group lead by poet laureate Parthenia M. Hicks, will present three free events to the public.
  • Authorize a $128,780-energy efficient lighting project thanks to federal stimulus funding with Republic Its Inc. to install lighting fixtures and bulbs at 16 town-owned parking lots and parks. 
  • Accept staff report about in the downtown area and consider installation of such stations at three locations. Council to also consider authorizing staff to bid out the project.
  • Accept the 2009-10 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the Town of Los Gatos for fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.
  • Consider a request to allow outdoor seating, live entertainment, dance lessons, and exterior modifications at , 316 N. Santa Cruz Ave.
  • Consider a request by Joseph McCarthy Jr. to allow exterior modifications to a commercial structure formerly occupied by Crossroads Bicycles, located at 217 No. Santa Cruz Ave., suite B,  to open a wine bar and retail wine shop called SB17. The business would have outdoor seating.
