What to Expect From Tonight's Planning Commission Meeting

Controversial Hillbrook School expansion request could be continued to a date uncertain.

The Los Gatos Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Town Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St., to consider the following topics:

  • Recognition of newly elected Los Gatos Councilwoman Marcia Jensen, former Planning Commission chairwoman
  • Hillbrook School and Mark Silver request approval to modify a conditional-use permit to increase school enrollment and modify operations at the existing private school at 300 Marchmont Drive. The school is located in property zoned hillside residential 1 to 5 acres for each dwelling unit. No significant environmental impacts have been identified and a so-called mitigated negative declaration is recommended.

Staff will ask the Commission to continue the issue to a date uncertain. On the town's website, staff said that due to the volume and substance of comments received in response to the MND for Hillbrook School, the matter needs to be postponed to complete further environmental review to address the comments. The future public hearing date will be re-advertised and re-noticed.

Please see attached PDF staff report to the Planning Commission regarding the Hillbrook School matter.
