The United Veterans Council of Santa Clara County's Veterans Day Parade in downtown San Jose featured more than 100 entries and drew thousands of spectators despite cold, rainy weather Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.

Since 1919, the United Veterans Council of Santa Clara County has put on the annual Veterans Day parade in downtown San Jose.

The procession, which took place Friday at noon at the intersection of Santa Clara and Delmas streets, is said to be the largest honoring war heroes on the West Coast.

According to event organizers, it's drawn in the past 25,000 people from throughout the South Bay to the heart of Silicon Valley.

All municipalities and numerous government officials in the county were represented during the event.
