Trustees to Announce New High School District Superintendent Tonight

Public will have a chance to meet and welcome new leader during small break at Tuesday's meeting of the Los Gatos Saratoga Joint Union High School District trustees.

Almost four months to the date of the resignation of former , trustees are expected to announce their new leader tonight at 6:30 p.m. during their regularly scheduled meeting at the.

Trustees are expected to approve the new leader's contract, give an introduction and welcome and take a short break to allow the public to chat with the new superintendent.

According to Jane Marashian, assistant to the superintendent, there will also be a community reception 4-6 p.m., Oct. 18, in the Los Gatos High School's community room prior to the trustees' regularly scheduled board meeting. Local government officials, parent group leaders and service group representatives will be invited to attend.

Matsuoka's 2010-11 salary was $185,869. Trustees were aided in their superintendent search by the search firm Leadership Associates. The district held two public community forums in July and August at Los Gatos and at Saratoga high schools to seek the public's feedback about the process.

Trustees are also expected to discuss the district’s and options for allocation of remaining parcel tax revenue for the 2011‐12 school year, among other topics.
