Saratoga Woman Named 'Local Hero'

Pragati Grover is honored for her service on multiple civic boards and commissions, including being a member of the City of Saratoga Planning Commission.

Saratoga resident Pragati Grover was recognized for her leadership skills in serving her community Tuesday afternoon during Santa Clara County Supervisor Liz Kniss' Asian-American Hero Awards luncheon.

Grover was among 14 Asian American organizations and individuals recognized, along with

"A true leader is someone who approaches the same problem from multiple angles and works in a variety of ways to improve their community. Pragati Grover is such a person," Kniss said during the event, which was held at the Fatima restaurant in Cupertino.

Kniss then listed the roles that Pragati has played or is currently playing in the City of Saratoga, which include service as a planning commissioner, school board trustee, library commissioner, education foundation member, Senior Coordinating Council Task Force member and American Youth Soccer Organization board member.

Kniss praised Grover for her experience as a school board member, as a champion of recreation and sports for youth, and as a library advocate and said the service was a perfect compliment to serving on the city's planning commission.

"The City of Saratoga is lucky to have Pragati on its team as a dedicated community leader," the supervisor said.
