Here's a snapshot of Friday's historic event.
NASA Ames Research Center, which is in Moffett Field next to Mountain View, usually invites the public to watch whenever there's a shuttle launch into space, and other NASA missions. The last flight of was no exception on Friday, July 8.
After the launch, children and parents participated in many activities at the Exploration Center.
