It appears no write-in candidates have come forward for the Losdespite
The write-in candidacy period began Sept. 10 and ends today at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, according to the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voter's Office.
There are two open seats on the Council and only two candidates have come forward to fill them, Vice Mayor Barbara Spector, who's running for her third four-year term and Planning Commission chairwoman Marcia Jensen, who's seeking her first elective office.
Los Gatos Mayor Steve Rice's term ends at the end of the year. He announced earlier this year he's not seeking re-election.
Those interested in becoming a write-in candidate can take the required qualifying signatures to participate in the election to the Los Gatos Clerk Department, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., today, at Town Hall, 110 East Main St.
In neighboring Saratoga, a third candidate finally completed all the paperwork necessary to run as a write-in candidate in the City Council race, which like the Los Gatos municipal election, also has two open seats on the body and two candidates seeking office.
