New Los Gatos Park Reservation System Goes Live

New system is tentatively scheduled to go live Monday, Jan. 13.

Los Gatos parks and recreation officials announced this week they'll be switching to a new and improved online park reservation system starting Jan. 13.

The system will replace the existing one which is almost 10 years old, said Bob Kass, special projects manager for the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department.

"It is more user-friendly, particularly with more functionality in searching for available facilities," Kass said.

Los Gatos, with nearly 10 beautiful parks, does not track annual visitors to the facilities, but it typically processes between 450 and 500 reservations for group picnic areas annually, Kass explained.

Starting Jan. 13, group picnic area reservations can be made online using the new system by visiting the town’s website at www.Losgatosca.gov and clicking on the park reservations link, Kass added.

Detailed information on reservations, rules and regulations is available on the town’s website under the parks reservation link.

Parks are open 8 a.m. until one-half hour after sunset in town.

Town trails are open 7 a.m. to sunset, unless posted otherwise.

The new system cost the town $9,000, and has an annual maintenance fee of $1,500, according to Kass.
