Incumbent trustee is hoping voters will give her four more years on the joint high school district board of education.

Editor's Note: Los Gatos Patch began publishing candidate statements Friday, Sept. 28 for all the local races affecting town residents. This is the statement voters will see on the ballot Nov. 6 for Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District trustee Rosemary Rossi, who's seeking a third four-year term the Board of Education.

As an incumbent member of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District Board of Trustees, community resident, former high school teacher and parent, I believe the excellent education that our schools provide our students is the result of a strong partnership with community, parents, staff and trustees. As a board member I bring experience, commitment, and a strong sense of accountability.

During my tenure, I collaborated with the community, staff and parents to pass a parcel tax that provides locally controlled funding during these difficult economic times, worked to introduce energy efficiency measures across the district, evaluated our educational programs to meet evolving student needs, and continued our work with "Project Cornerstone" to promote positive emotional growth for each student.

As your trustee, my goals are to maintain and enhance the high standards of every program. I will effectively manage district finances to benefit every student, monitor and evaluate curriculum to ensure all students can realize their potential, and work to incorporate the most relevant technologies, preparing our graduates to be successful in our diverse, complex world. I look forward to serving you and each student as we work together responsibly to ensure the best education possible in this ever changing society.
