Los Gatos Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The award is the highest form of recognition possible in the field of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Under the leadership of Los Gatos Finance Director Steve Conway, Los Gatos has once again received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

Mayor Steve Rice said Conway's leadership in the area of finance has been greatly beneficial to the town and noted the award is the highest form of recognition in the are of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Rice said the certificate is awarded by an impartial panel which judges the town's financial reports which "have demonstrated full disclosure to clearly community the town's financial situation to its residents."

Conway, who's been employed by Los Gatos for 11 years, said throughout his service to the community he's been pleased with the award.

"It feels great and we work hard," he said the evening of Nov. 19 upon being recognized by the Council.

He thanked Town Manager Greg Larson and staff for their support with rigorous annual audits. "We do our best to disclose our financial situation for the town ... so we have full accountability to the public," he said. "We're very proud of this award and will continue to strive to achieve it." 

In December of 2011 Conway also received the CFO of the Year Judges Award from the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
