and to honor the occasion, Los Gatos Patch is joining the Museums of Los Gatos StoryShare project.
What does it consist of? Collecting stories from people who have lived in and around the town for the past 125 years.
Los Gatos Patch will forward those stories to the project, which will help the Museum develop a historical narrative of the community and its residents.
Our publication will also start publishing those stories beginning Aug. 10, 2012, the date of the town's 125th incorporation anniversary. The town was incorporated in 1887.

How To Tell Your Story
Write down or record your story and submit it to Los Gatos Patch either at the end of this piece in the comments, or email it to sheila.sanchez@patch.com.
If you're more comfortable with social media, tell your story on our recently created Facebook page honoring the town's anniversary called Happy 125 Birthday, Los Gatos.
Try to keep your written submission to less than 300 words, or your video or audio recording to less than three minutes.
Be sure to include a date or general time-period, a location, and as many details as you can remember.
Each submission should be related to one specific event, subject, place or object, but you are more than welcome to submit more than one story.
Submitted stories become the property of the Museums, which reserves the right to use the stories in exhibitions and publications; stories will be credited to the submitter(s).
Thank you for participating!
Lots of lovely history however.
Beware of wishing for bygone days, because there was a time when non-whites were not allowed to own property or businesses in this town or others along the peninsula, I feel we have come along way but have much more to go to welcome minorities to our town.
