A local group of MoveOn members rallied today outside of Congressman Mike Honda's (D-San Jose) Pruneyard office in Campbell to demand jobs.
The members, called the Mid-Peninsula American Dream Council, picketed at 12:30 p.m to promote jobs, according to a statement released by MPADC member Andrew Johnson.
The group will “discuss ways to promote new jobs in response to the Republican spending cuts, as well as voice their concerns regarding the inability of Congress to raise revenues,” according to the statement.
The event is one of 254 planned "Jobs Not Cuts" demonstrations nationwide.
As a team of MoveOn members, MPADC focuses on building a base of local activists, developing leaders in their movement, and working to win national MoveOn campaigns.
Honda represents the 15th Congressional District, which encompasses much of the central, northeastern and southwestern area of Santa Clara County. This includes Los Gatos, Cupertino, Milpitas, Santa Clara, Campbell, and Gilroy, and one third of the city of San Jose.
