The appointments of Christopher Rudy, 53, of Boulder Creek, Joshua Weinstein, 55, of San Francisco and Charles Wilson II, of East Palo Alto, were announced today.

Gov. Jerry Brown today announced the appointments of three Bay Area lawyers to serve as judges in the Santa Clara County Superior Court, the governor's office said.

Brown appointed Christopher Rudy, 53, of Boulder Creek, Joshua Weinstein, 55, of San Francisco and Charles Wilson II, of East Palo Alto, all of whom like Brown are Democrats, to the bench of the San Jose-based court.

Rudy, a partner of the law firm Stenberg Sunseri Roe Pickard and Rudy in downtown San Jose since 1994, obtained his law degree from Santa Clara University and his bachelor's degree from San Jose State University.

Rudy is replacing retired Judge Joyce Allegro.

Weinstein has been a judicial staff attorney at the California First District Court of Appeal in San Francisco since 2008 and is a former senior attorney for the Judicial Council in California and special master for the San Francisco County Superior Court.

He received his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and his undergraduate degree from Boston University.

Weinstein replaces retired Judge Jerome Nadler.

Wilson had been a deputy district attorney at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office since 2007. He worked at two San Francisco law firms, Gordon and Rees LLP, from 2003 to 2007, and Phillips Spallas and Fotouhi in 2003.

He earned his law degree and a master's of business administration at the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts diploma from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Wilson will replace retired Judge Diane Northway.

The annual salary for each of the judgeships is $181,292.
