Famous Artists' Works Coming to Los Gatos!

New exhibit will feature more than 50 Bay Area artists beginning Nov. 1 through Jan. 30, 2014.

The Town of Los Gatos and the Museums of Los Gatos have partnered on a new exhibit that will showcase renowned Bay Area artists' works of art as part of the Art in the Council Chambers program.

The program, which has been going on for 13 years, normally presents four exhibits in the chambers with an evening artist reception being held for each show.

The first exhibit will feature more than 50 artists currently appearing in the Los Gatos Museums Gallery. The exhibit will be on display in the chambers Nov. 1 through Jan. 30, 2014.

Town officials said the Museums will be assuming the role of curator in the latest exhibit, which offers the nonprofit another venue to showcase art in proximity to its future location in the former Los Gatos Library, located next to Town Hall or the Civic Center at 110 E. Main St.

The public is invited to attend a reception to view the exhibit 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 in the chambers. Light refreshments will be served.

The chambers are located downstairs in the Civic Center, or Town Hall, and are open to the public 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The art is available for viewing if the area is unoccupied by contacting Los Gatos Town Manager Greg Larson’s office at 408-354-6834, or by inquiring at the Town Hall public counter.
