County Supe Mike Wasserman 2014 Re-Election Campaign Kickoff Tonight in Los Gatos

Fundraising event at 5:30 p.m. includes hors d'oeuvres by Executive Chef Ross Hanson and Brenda Hammond of Restaurant James Randall.

The primary election is more than nine months away, but the Re-Elect Supervisor Mike Wasserman Committee is hard at work to help raise funds for the former Los Gatos mayor and councilman who's up for re-election in the June 3, 2014 primary.

Wasserman, who represents Santa Clara County supervisorial district 1, is having his re-election campaign kickoff event tonight Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Dennise Carter, 45 Broadway.

The event is co-hosted by Carter and community advocate Jonathan Knowles and the suggested donation amount per person is between $100 and $500 with checks payable to "Re-elect Supervisor Wasserman 2014" which can be mailed along with the form attached to this post.

The re-election campaign committee was also encouraging the public to donate online on Wasserman's re-election website.

On Nov. 2, 2010, Wasserman was elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors after a landslide victory over challenger Forrest Williams, a former San Jose councilman.

Wasserman, known as a diligent campaigner who's great at engaging voters, is said to have enjoyed the support in the last election from well known political figures in the county including Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone, who's a Democrat.

Stone has once again endorsed Wasserman as well as Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith and Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen.

Prior to serving as a county supervisor, Wasserman worked for eight years on the Los Gatos Town Council as mayor and councilmember. He was replaced on the Council by Vice Mayor Steven Leonardis.

Wasserman's district includes Los Gatos, Gilroy, Almaden Valley, Santa Teresa, Blossom Valley, Morgan Hill, San Martin and the Mt. Hamilton Range and the Santa Cruz Mountains. The district's population is more than 340,000 and encompasses 70 percent of county land.

Please see attached flier for more info about tonight's event.
