Bay Area Flood Advisory in Effect Wednesday Afternoon

Affected counties include Santa Clara, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Alameda and San Francisco.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory throughout the Bay Area on Wednesday.

The advisory went into effect at 12:52 p.m. and was expected to last until 2:15 p.m.

Affected counties include Contra Costa, Marin, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda and San Francisco.

Doppler radar indicated rainfall rates in excess of a half inch per hour moving across the region.

Rain was expected to cause ponding of water in urban areas.
