If so, the town's community outreach staff invite you to participate in several hands-on art workshops in July to design the anniversary art project.

Los Gatos artists Anne Lamborn and Jade Bradbury will then take the creations and combine them into a large wall display that will be mounted in the new Los Gatos Library as a tribute to the 2012 Jubilee Year.

A list of those who participate will become part of the town's permanent historical records.

The first workshop will be held 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m., July 4, during the town's Independence Day celebration at the Adult Recreation Center, 208 Main St.

All materials, except photos, will be provided. Pics should be small enough to fit on a motif approximately four inches in diameter. Dates and locations of additional workshops will be announced soon.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to be part of the town's Jubilee celebration in a meaningful way,” said Los Gatos Councilwoman Diane McNutt, chairwoman of the Jubilee Celebration Committee. “Together we are creating a beautiful display that will reflect our community‟s character and values. The art experience is something we will remember as one of those 'only in Los Gatos' moments we treasure.”

The Jubilee Community Art Experience display will be unveiled this fall in conjunction with the reopening and dedication of Pageant Grounds Park on the Civic Center campus.

The town was incorporated on Aug. 10, 1887, however, it plans to observe its jubilee year patriotic style on July 4 and hold concurrent anniversary celebrations at five public parks 6-8 p.m., Aug. 10 with a "Party in the Parks" event at Bachman, Belgatos, Blossom Hill, La Rinconada, and Live Oak Manor parks.

The town is seeking party hosts for each park to coordinate the neighborhood bashes using a municipal stipend and any other resources available to the neighborhood.
