Albright Way Project Back on Los Gatos Town Council's Agenda Tonight

During May 20 meeting, government body postpones for two weeks deliberating on fate of future Netflix location.

The Los Gatos Town Council meets tonight at 7 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Town Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St. to discuss the following:

Planned development application, architecture and site application and Environmental Impact Report for 90-160 Albright Way and 14600 Winchester Blvd. The property owner is the Los Gatos Business Park, LLC and the applicant is developer John R. Shenk.

  • Consider a request to modify the existing planned development to allow for redevelopment of the site with up to 550,000 square feet of new office/research and development buildings and approval to construct the improvements represented in the planned development on property zoned CM:PD, controlled manufacturing planned development.
  • Consider a request for architecture and site approval for the proposed project
  • Consider certification of an Environmental Impact Report and mitigation monitoring and reporting program
The Los Gatos Planning Commission on April 24 voted 4-3 against recommending the project for approval to the Council.

The Council postponed voting on the issue until tonight due to the lateness of the hour two weeks ago Monday May 20 when nearly 80 residents spoke in favor or against the proposal.

Developer John Shenk proposes to build up to 550,000 square feet of new office/research and development space, one new three-story parking garage, surface parking areas, new access driveways, and new landscaping and open space.

The proposed project would remove the 10 existing buildings at the Los Gatos Business Park totaling approximately 250,000 square feet of office/research and development space and allow the construction of four new office/research and development 65-foot tall buildings at full build out.

Shenk has said the project's first phase includes a 550,000 square feet of offices and now excludes residential development in the four-story buildings.

Internet video streaming giant Netflix, which is headquartered in Los Gatos at 100 Winchester Circle, has leased the first building and has options on the entire project, according to Shenk.
