Vandals Break Los Gatos' Williams Sonoma's Front Window

Los Gatos' Williams Sonoma gourmet foods and professional-quality cookware store, 122 No. Santa Cruz Ave., was vandalized at around noon Friday, May 10 when vandals shattered one of its large front windows with either a BB gun or a sling shot.

A store employee, who declined to be identified, said Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police were called to the store after the incident, which sent glass flying inside the business startling shoppers and employees.

"We have a big plywood window now," said the employee of the 9-foot tall by 12-foot wide window facing No. Santa Cruz Avenue.

"It was the middle of the day on a Friday and there weren't a lot of people walking by at the time, so possibly it was someone driving by in a car," the employee said.

"They were startled," the employee said of those who were inside the store when it happened. "They heard the loud noise. It was almost like a gunshot."

The store was also vandalized last summer when someone threw a shopping cart through back door breaking it, the employee said.
