Second Area Construction Worker Dies In Fall; Today's Accident at San Jose Site

A 54-year-old man died Tuesday after tragically falling from a San Mateo construction project.

A worker fell to his death at a construction site in San Jose this afternoon, according to police.

The fall was reported at 12:08 p.m. near the intersection of Sierra Road and North Capitol Avenue, San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said.

The man was unloading sheetrock and fell about three stories, California Division of Occupational Safety and Health spokesman Greg Siggins said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Morales said. Cal/OSHA is responding to investigate the death.
