Police: Several Cars' Tires Slashed, Vandalized in Southeast Los Gatos

Two juvenile suspects have been identified in crime that targeted at least six victims, but more vehicles could have been involved, according to police.

Multiple vehicles were recently vandalized in southeast Los Gatos and now police are on the lookout for the culprits.

The vandalism took place between Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31 "during the hours of darkness" when the suspects caused major damages to several cars by slashing their tires and breaking their windows, said Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police Sgt. spokesman Clinton Tada.

At least two juvenile suspects have been identified, but the investigation is ongoing, Sgt. Tada said.

Six victims have been identified by the LGMSPD, but some of the incidents may have been reported to the San Jose Police Department due to the mixed jurisdiction in the neighborhood.

The cars vandalized in Los Gatos were located in the Hershner Drive, Howes Drive and Kensington Way areas, Sgt. Tada added.

LGMSPD is working with SJPD to determine the number of reported vandalisms they had in and around that neighborhood during the same time frame, he said.

The vehicles were parked on the street at the time of the vandalism and it's unknown at this time the exact cost of the damages, which will be based on the type of vehicle, tires, and extent of destruction related to each vehicle, he explained.
