Police: Los Gatos Woman Robbed, Assaulted on East Main Street

Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police are investigating the Sunday evening incident.

A 36-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed by a man in the parking lot of her Los Gatos apartment Sunday evening, police said this morning in a press release.

The woman, who lives in the 30 block of East Main Street, in downtown Los Gatos, told police a man with "a deep voice" wearing a long-sleeved shirt or coat struck her in the jaw with an unknown object after grabbing her from behind, dragging her to a secluded area of the apartment complex and taking her purse and jewelry.

The assault occurred as she was exiting her vehicle at her apartment complex at about 9:40 p.m., police reported.

According to the release, issued more than two days after the assault and robbery, police searched the area Sunday evening but couldn't find the robber or any items belonging to the victim.
