Motorist ID'd in Tuesday Morning's Fatal Rollover on Hwy 101 Near Tully Road

A man who died Tuesday after his car veered off of U.S. Highway 101 and overturned in San Jose has been identified as 22-year-old Troy Donecho, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Donecho, a San Jose resident, was driving a 2001 Mazda was heading south in the far right lane of Highway 101 south of Tully Road at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday when he turned onto the shoulder and struck a light pole, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The Mazda then overturned numerous times and came to rest on its roof, CHP officials said.

Donecho died at the scene.

His passenger, a 21-year-old San Jose man, was treated for minor lacerations to his head, according to the CHP.
