Two separate domestic violence/assault cases kept Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police busy last week with husbands being accused of violently assaulting their wives.

In the first incident, reported to police at 10:10 a.m. Monday, May 20 at the Los Gatos Lodge, 50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Rd., an unidentified 50-year-old San Jose resident is said to have pushed, punched and kicked his wife in one of the hotel rooms, said Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police Sgt. spokesman Clinton Tada.

The Los Gatos woman and her husband had met to discuss unrelated issues at a prior location, then the husband arrived at Lodge and the incident took place, according to Sgt. Tada.

The victim refused medical transport the day of the report, Sgt. Tada said, adding that the husband fled the scene.

The woman sustained bruising to her upper body and complained of pain to her abdomen and leg areas, according to Sgt. Tada.

In the second incident, a 40-year-old man was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of assault/domestic violence against his wife at 6:03 p.m. May 22 at a Mattson Avenue residence in Los Gatos.

Update, as of Feb. 24, 2015: All charges regarding the second incident were dismissed for lack of evidence.
