The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing elderly man with Alzheimer's disease who has not been seen since he drove away from his Morgan Hill home Friday morning.

Alfred Guzman, 79, has no short or long term memory and has not driven a vehicle since 2007, Sgt. Jose Cardoza said. He takes medication for his condition but did not take it today.

He drove away from his home on the 19600 block of Dougherty Avenue around 8:45 a.m. in a 1994 teal green GMC truck, and has not been seen since. He was not carrying money, identification or a cellphone, Cardoza said.

Guzman is described as 5 feet 4 inches and 150 pounds, with a missing right thumb. He was last seen wearing black jeans and a blue sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call (408) 808-4410.
