Man Stabbed Multiple Times in Downtown Los Gatos

Milpitas man arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder, police say he stabbed unidentified 28-year-old man and one more individual.

A 21-year-old Milpitas man has been arrested by Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident early Sunday morning that resulted in stabbing wounds to himself and two other people.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call of a man who was cut and bleeding on Victory Lane, south of Bean and North Santa Cruz avenues.

Officers found a 28-year-old man suffering from multiple serious, but not life-threatening stab wounds who told police he had reportedly attempted to intervene in an argument occurring between several people in a group passing by his location on Victory Lane, said Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Capt. David Gravel.

He reported that when he attempted to intervene in their argument, he was attacked by one or more members in the group and was transported by paramedics to Valley Medical Center.

A short time later, hospital officials called Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police to report treating two additional people, who were suffering from superficial cuts, and who reported having been involved in the altercation in downtown Los Gatos.

Those two people were apparently part of the group of people who were arguing when the victim attempted to intervene, police said and it's believed that their cuts were received when the victim was attacked by the suspect, identified by police as Albert Cruzet, of Milpitas.

Cruzet was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges of attempted murder, Capt. Gravel said.

Police are asking that any witnesses, or people with additional information regarding the fight to contact Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Detective Dan Accardo at 408-827-3236.

Kudos for the bystanders intervening. Of course, I don't know the circumstances, but we cant let the nutjobs ruin it for the rest of us. At that time of night, I wonder how much alcohol played into the behavior. Guy's life is on a different track, now.
What a waste of our time and resources.

Thank you Mr. Rice, Mr. Prysinski and Ms. McNutt for turning our downtown into party central. Not since the 70s have when we were called Whiskey Gulch have I seen such activities. What were you people thinking when you allowed so much restaurant intensifications, and so many wine bars and a night club without having to serve food. Did you even think about the consequences of eliminating sought after retail space in lieu of serving booze. What did you expect would happen when turning our town into a destination location for people looking for action. Next it will be gang activity and more murders. I sure hope Steve Rice is not running for re-election. He is part of the voting block of three on Council that has turned our town into an entertainment district. These three have given our town away to tourists and tire kickers and speculators. I for one am voting for Marsha Jensen and Barbara Spector in the November elections. Syonara, it is time for you to hang up your carpet bag.

Capt. Gravel said the unidentified victim, the 28-year-old, suffered numerous stab wounds; however, he won't release location of the wounds or details about weapon used.

Yeah Larry, drunks fighting in the streets is ALL the Town of Los Gatos's fault! I have a suggestion, when a person sees a group of people fighting- they should call the police. NEVER try to break up a fight. You cannot rationalize with angry thugs who may be under the influence of alcohol or some other substance. I am happy that our downtown has a lively entertainment district. I LOVE our downtown!

Wow that's a races comment. Border control! So what are you replying to that all people from Milpitas are bad. What person in there right mind would interfere in someone's argument. Like the comment said earlier he should have called the police. How would you like it if I said maybe he's an idiot because he's from Los Gatos. Of course I don't feel that way. I don't think he should of did what he did but i don't think judging people because of where they live is right either. There's some comments you should just keep to yourself..

I just emailed Sgt. Stephen Walpole, but he's on vacation until June 20. I last reported on a rapeRead More at the Los Gatos Lodge in March, but Sgt. Harris back then said the department's records unit need time to research just how many of these sex crimes had been reported to police. I'll check with the district.
